Common Chiropractic Questions – Care Plans

How Long Until I Feel Better?

I’ve heard this age old question every day of my 20+ years as a chiropractor and the answer is unique to each individual patient.

Some patients experience almost instant relief. Others discover it can take many weeks or months. Many factors can affect the healing process. Several main factors include: How long have you had the problem? Are you keeping your appointments? Are you getting the proper rest, exercise and nutrition? Do you smoke? Are you in otherwise good condition? Within a short period of time, most patients sense enough progress to fully carry out their doctors recommendations.

As chiropractor’s, we understand that many of our new patients come to our clinics frustrated and guarded because they have tried traditional medicine and left it behind due to the lack of long-term treatment. It is our job to put our patients worries at ease by setting up a personalized chiropractic care plan specific to each patients symptoms/illness, personal goals and chiropractic exam results. More and more patients tell us that writing another prescription or prescribing a higher dosage, has NOT proven to be a solution for long-term treatment but is only “masking the pain”. Chiropractic Care is NOT a temporary solution, we provide lifelong care and lasting treatment.

Common Chiropractic Care Plan Questions

Q: How Long Will I Need Chiropractic Care?

A: After patients get the relief they want, many choose to continue with some type of periodic care. These patients show up for visits feeling great. These visits can support the final stages of healing and help resolve new problems before they become serious. Our job is to offer the very best care and your job is decide how much of it you want.

Q: Will I Receive Any Medication For My Pain?

A: No. Chiropractic Doctors don’t dispense drugs. Because we rely on natural methods, we can show you how to use ice to control painful symptoms. When properly applied, ice can have an analgesic effect without the side effects of pain medications.

Q: Will I Ever Be Normal Again?

A: Many of our patients report improved spinal curves and the total resumption of their normal lifestyles. Those who neglected or delayed seeking care, often see slower progress. After improvement, many patients discover that periodic chiropractic checkups can help avoid a relapse
